I've seen some 230+ mins screenshots flying around. You're in Maelstrom by any chance ? Or playing at empty hours maybe
Well it's the morning. Also did you mark "Join Party already in Progress"?
holy moly, i'm maelstrom and in excal as well and THAT is the first time i see a queue longer than 30 minutes.
Weekends, (Fridays to Saturday night), and when pvp is in bonus for the light are your best options.
But in general its completely random. Sometimes its insta-pop for a good 2 hours, and other times you will queue for 2 hours.
It all obviously depends on how many people want to pvp at that exact time, and if 1-3 people decide not to play any more matches, it can make you wait a substantial amount of time to replace them. (Although the new low man game mode variations help slightly)
Remember we get pvp roulette "Soon" (you lucky sods who arent max rank yet), which should help queues massively, and even convert a few new people to play pvp, with the intention of geting them get hooked.
An influx of nubs in the arena will be annoying at first, but hey, even losing is more beneficial than standing in town doing nothing. (gotta love that accumulative loser xp buff). Plus everyone was once noobs in pvp at some point, so dont let the elite few bother you.
Had to split into 2 posts cus of 1k char limit.
The general pattern I see is queues pop quite fast after 3pm GMT, and fully stop at 1am-2am GMT.
I HIGHLY recommend you start a crafting class, or craft for profit whilst waiting. Like it or not you will be staring at a screen for potentially hours on end waiting for the queue, so making that time productive is advisable.
Maelstrom is like the DPS of DF queues :> You have to wait until people from Twin Adders (Healer) and Immortal Flames (Tank) to apply!
Also, not many people are interested in PvP, some even stopped doing it after some nerf. They've always been really long months ago... I remember applying in progress and maybe doing 2 or 3 frontlines in 3 hours. There are good days where you can just get instant entry nonstop because usually the same people would re-apply. There were some weeks that Frontlines were hyped after 2.4 'cause everyone was using ninja with hide and stuff, now even more people are tired of them. All hope goes to the frontlines changes/updates I guess.
There are some serious problems with the Frontlines queue. I and some friends have on occasion queued separately (same GC) and yet I would sometimes get a queue pop before even though they queued first.
It seems some people get put in the queue but permanently skipped over every time it pops. Usually if you leave the queue and re-queue you'll get a quick pop. Surprised so few people are aware of the issue...
