Do something with attribute points

They're boring. It's just pointless customization that doesn't really add any customization. You may as well get rid of them and boost everyone's main stats at this point.

I agree. Point allotment serves almost no purpose.

Especially considering that in that end, every player (aside *maybe* from those who use MRD/WAR) will benefit more from putting all of their attribute points into the stat that matters the most for their class/job.
So it is kind of pointless.

And that's one reason this'll never happen. You want to remove the system for all jobs but one? Ridiculous. It's not hurting anything the way it is.

And there's groups that will occasionally push content by spec'ing vit. So they definitely won't take that ability away.

As a Scholar and Summoner, I just GC the stats with item. But if they wanted to break the point allocation system, a lot of ACN would possibly be screwed.

Not necessarily.
They could hard-code the stat boost(s) into the Soul Crystal itself, instead (so that way, it'd rely on the job itself rather than the overall class' attribute system).

While there are a couple instances where there might actually be some argument (eg STR vs VIT as a MRD or WAR; there may be cases for PIE as a WHM, etc), the reality is that 80% of the playerbase - and correctly - just sinks all 30 into the single stat. The reason the next 18% are likely not doing that is because they don't actually know that's pretty much straight up optimal for their class.

(And this is, of course, ignoring SCH/SMN who have to deal with the fact it's actually kind of a hinderance to them)

Functionally speaking, it's just a player trap. Unlike Crossclasses where sometimes there are genuine choices and room for player expression, the attribute assignment feels pointless.

I can agree that points attribute points are kinda silly at this point. The only thing I'd like is a choice to allocate your points. Being a non-endgamer - Mostly non-DF user, I like to mess around with my stats/points. It would be nice to just push a button and have the CPU do it for you, if it that was what you wanted.

I think it'd be good if it was, by default allocated automatically as you levelled up to help newer players so they don't forget (while still giving a notification about it and stuff) but you'd still be able to either turn that option off or reset them for those cases where they might be better off elsewhere.
