Free transfers from highly populated servers to ones with lower populations

I've been trying to create a character on Balmung for weeks since that's where my friends and family play, but it's pretty much constantly restricted. I try waking up at 3 and 7 am EST sometimes and it's still locked to new characters.

Since Balmung is pretty much constantly locked (and there may be other worlds with similar issues, though I didn't pay them much attention), I think a way to remedy some population issues are to allow people from the most populated servers free transfers to mid-populated and low-populated servers.

This would helps alot to balance the worlds population, i agree. even if they do it like "only once a time" campaign.

Usually, MMO's that offer free transfer has the reason that there are hour long queues to even enter a character already existing.
Which stops people who have paid from playing the game.
(I dont know if there are queues in FFXIV as I have yet to see one myself)
Being locked out to make a new character is your choice if you keep trying or start on another server.
Sure, it's sad that friends are kept seperated this way, but the locks are there for a reason I'm sure.

Well, that's my view of it all atleast.
