The Unending Journey
Just to say, I love the story to FF 14. And to be honest, I'm not quite sure if this would be the best place in the forums to even post this. As to being a huge of the story, I generally want to rewatch the cutscenes. However, when I do go and check the Unending Journey in the inn room, I find many cutscenes to be missing or just simply not added. Even if they were part of the main scenario.
Few examples are of the cutscenes for Coerthas with the priest who is a heretic. Or the cutscene where you rescue Tataru while she is out mining. Those cutscenes are not in there.
It would be nice to see more cutscenes that you unlocked to be added in so it isn't necessary to create a new character just to see them again. If the cutscenes were to be removed because of a new version of it, that's fine. But if that is the case, at least replace them with the new version.
Again, I'm sorry if I made this post in the wrong section of the Forum.

Not used it for a while but theres a drop down menu at the top that has some of the cutscenes you are looking for under different sections.

I know, however they aren't in there either sadly enough.

The journal only lets you relive actual cutscenes, not dialogue with NPCs even if said NPCs only appear during the course of a quest.

^ What Urthdigger said.
In case you haven't noticed, "actual" cutscenes are those where the dialogue box doesn't show up. And, if it's any consolation, you can usually read up the details in your journal. You can think of the cutscenes in The Unending Journey as the highlights of the story, rather than a blow-by-blow recording of everything you saw in-game.
If you really want to re-live everything, you'd have to do as I do: I take screenshots of almost every line of dialogue. But you'd then end up with several thousands of pictures. I'd usually take some time to curate the pictures and throw away the ones that don't add much to my understanding of the story.
I used to record the cutscenes too, but I abandoned that eventually as it was far too resource-intensive.

I agree, it would be really nice to revisit those scenes. I ended up skipping most from Alisaies Resolve because I was told I could watch them again when I was being rushed to unlock Turn 10. Sad to say: You can't rewatch them ;; and there was supposedly some important information about Nael Van Darnus in those scenes. Since I didn't play 1.0, I don't know the character as well as everyone else.

I actually have major complaint about this too. Fortunately, I always watch them and never skip it, even if anyone demands it.
There's only 1 cs I missed thought, and that's in Hildibrand 2.4 quest series. There's this cs where we and Hildi follows this gladiator woman outside Uldah and met her sister (I think). Unfortunately, my DF popped. Being unaccustomed by the new withdraw penalty, I had to skip this cs out of fear of getting penalty and accepted the duty immediately, thinking that I should be able to watch it later from Unending Journal. Boy... I was wrong. The Hildi quest only has partial cs and not including every cs popped throughout the quest. Now... I never did discover what did that gladiator woman and her sister were doing. :p
While I had my own dismay with current DF commence penalty system, having not able to rewatch cs are another thing. What's worse, you can't even accept DF while in mid of cs. You have to skip the cs or risk eating penalty. I would like to have accepting DF while mid of cs, at least that way got the event rolled back to before I trigger that cs, thus giving me the chance to view the cs again.

What I would want is to unlock legacy cutscenes because you know, it is kinda important. 2.5 will adress what happened in the 1.0 opening cutscene and still half the events are caused by Nael van Darnus, who we who only started playing now only get to see as a boss in the Coil. Granted it was my mistake that I wasn't there when it began, but it's not my fault I was a schoolboy when it began and couldn't pay the subscription.

I'm not talking about just regular dialogue boxes though, Urthdigger, TinyRedLeaf. I mean they are actual cutscenes where characters interact and move. And there are cutscenes in "Unending Journey" where there is no voice acting (aka, they have to have dialogue boxes). For example, the Hildibrand storyline.

Have you tried checking that slider on the right side of the the Unending Journey menu boxes? Many scenes have several chapters and in order to see them you have to use the slider. I can find pretty much every cutscene from the game this way.
