[dev1032] Discerning Eye broken with patch 1.18

Was discussing this with another pugilist today. Pre-1.18 you could get up to around 15% damage increase with Discerning Eye, after the latest patch I am seeing only <5%, if there is any increase at all. Damage taken is not a factor I've even tested it losing 3-4k+ damage in during the buff and not seen any noticeable increase.

Has anyone seen it work properly since the patch?

I never use it so can't add anything to this, but I'm interested in knowing exactly how it works, I guess I never got in mood to spend time to figure it out or so. ^^;

The text for this ability is a little misleading, it's based on how damaged you are, not on how much damage you've actually taken.

Let's say you have 2000 HP and pop discerning eye, then you take a total of 4k damage, but are healed back to full each time you're hit, then discerning eye will do nothing.

Now let's say you only took 1500 total but no heals, you're now 75% damaged, you should see a significant boost to your attack. Not sure if it's simply % based, or if it's based off of the total points of hp lost, or for that matter how much attack you get in return. It would probably take a great deal of parsing to find these values out.

Ah, thanks for that I was wondering myself how the Ability worked as what the tooltip leads you to believe its total damage sustained, I guess it should read something like percentage lost from max hp or something to that effect.

Well there were disagreements of how exactly it worked, but it is not working either way for me currently. With 500 HP I get no noticeable increase in attack power.

Ya, I haven't tested it to see if it's broken or not, since I party play a lot, and the healers I run with are good about keeping everyone topped off, it's not a skill I can really benefit from.
I was just explaining how the ability works, since there seemed to be the same confusion I had when I first read the description text.
