FF XIV Lame events

Someone else think FFXIV events are lame and completly un-original... lifeless? Its like its always the same... do some stuff a few times to colect a few things a grab some vanity crap. Ppl can grab everything they want from the event in 1-2 days.

Events are not giving any reason to play... they usually helps mmo to retain players... to entertain besides the eternal gear treadmill... but at least for me are not working at all. X-mast event was too focused on showing a story many of us dont care (and skip) instead of actually making ppl play and new year looks like the same.

Other games build even dungeons for big or seasonal events.. jumping puzzles... scenarios... BIG dinamics events... etc etc. And i am talking bout B2P games :S this its a P2P, we shoul have bether stuff

I'm playing them for the story and am enjoying them very much. Maybe you would too, if you didn't skip it.

Well if you don't like the story then you shouldn't play and RPG then.

I think they should make the events a bit more meaty. The daily quests were a nice touch but they could have made each city unique and not the same stone fetch quest. It seems that each year we will get a new story about the same event. I would like it if they expanded upon it each year so each year it gets a little bigger instead of a few quests each year.

I didnt.. but was pretty boring for me. And last 20 min even if u read really slow....

Well this its not just a RPG its a MMORPG.. work diferent.

Also i REALLY like FFXIV story.. event moogle delivery quest and side stories... but events are not the same, should not last 20 min... as i said, events should be an option besides the gear treadmill, the usual activities we do. But are not working, noone cares bout it after a few days (1-3 days 15 min each ) and looks sad if u compare it with seasonal events from others MMO

That's exactly why I like these events. I don't like feeling compelled to log on every single day during the holidays just to grind an event, and I suspect there are lots of other players who feel the same way.

Considering how long the PSN has been down during the Christmas event, I'm wishing that every item could be earned in a few hours, rather than over the span of days.

people in this thread is being very aggressive to the OP, while i agree in regards OP not being able to fully enjoy them because of her own fault, she is right about the events, SE could do something bigger, it doesn't have to take days to be completed, but it could be something more fun, an interesting quest, with a seasonal dungeon as part of it, they could use a slightly modified haukke manor for the all saints wake quest, or snow cloak for starlight, with special enemies and drops, something fun, not very hard that would make you want to repeat it, and these instances could come back every year with new drops, story and bosses, they could do trials as well, these would require less work.

And well some event themed weapons would be great.

Fun, sure, but lorewise I highly doubt the demons in Haukke Manor would frolic about decorating the manor with All Saints Wake stuff, or the Harriers setting up Starlight traps in Snowcloak...

that's why i said modified, the idea is not using the dungeon itself, but the materials to build something different, creating new resources for an event dungeon would be a waste of development time, but they can use the existing haukke manor to create a haunted mansion for all saints wake.
