How can we reward the good?

So I was sitting fishing for silver sovereigns and I failed to catch two! The fisherman beside me was like :o. He/she then proceeded to give me very nice and helpful advice on how to get them fishies. They went into great depth and care looking through my gear to help me out! I brought this up in FC chat and we agreed we think it would be cool to be able to reward players who are awesome like that. What does the community think? (I made this post because of another post mentioning maybe we should talk more about the good players than the bad) I understand I could trade them something, but wouldn\\'t it be cool to commend them in some way?

I feel there's plenty of ways to thank those players - and to be honest players that will go out of their way to do that aren't seeking any particular reward. (In the case of Fishers we're all suffering through the same hell)

It would be nice to be able to pass commendations outside of dungeons to players that have helped us out - though at the same time they probably wouldn't because people would start "buying commendations" and other such nonsense, and it would become largely meaningless. That said I'd still like to see some incentivization towards getting the community to help out other players.

i like this idea, too many egocentric elitist and in this game, kinda kills the reason for it to be an MMO, though i wouldnt expect anything anytime soon even if they did

It's a nice idea, though outside friends could easily boost each other. Commendations in terms of rewards are supposed to be long term goals.

Perhaps people outside your FC, friend list, and linkshell can give commendations. I once had someone give me 1000 gil just for reviving them.

Yeah I had a GSM go through about 15 materia helping meld and I even offered to trade 10K Gil they declined and added me as a friend . Stated that if I needfed mdlding in the future just message. There are good people in this world

I agree with what was !mentioned on a previous post. These people are just doing it from the kindness of their hearts. A simple thank you is good enough at minimum An offer payment at most

and then there's those people who want more tomes for low roulette.....

actually a better alternative is only able to commend 1 person every few days/weeks. people can still abuse it, but lowers the speed they could abuse it

Good. >.> (sorry phone posted before I was finishes.) Also I just like when people help just as a random act of kindness. So maybe just starting a thread just about good deeds done in Eorzea. That way we can all know about the heroes that make our world amazing! :D What do you guys think? Maybe "Eorzea's daily hero!"
