Friend List tell system?

i wonder if we could get a new message system for peeps on our friends list
that works like tells but it isnt

i want to stop using the tell system all together and have a system for my
friends and i to use.

i have like no idea how it would work...
i guess there messages would be tells but because they are on my FL they
wouldnt be blocked if i was to say... shut off my general tell system

yeah this is about the whole mass RMTer spammings.
i had to shut down my tell system today because i came out of a dungeon to a
WALL of purple RMTer text. i had gotten 10 messages all at the same time.

this is making me want to play FF13 and farm platinum ingots. if that gives you
any idea of how annoyed i am with 14

Then you'd get spammed by more friend invites from RMTers than you do already.
There's not really much SE can do to mitigate RMTers, as they always try to find loopholes in the system and it's increasingly difficult to manage them without alienating your players.
You COULD just invite all your friends to the same LS, but that's not much of a solution.
It's the consequence of having a popular game, I'm afraid.

They could compromise and let you set notifications for tells differently when they are on your friends list. That way, while you'd still receive a tell, you could silence the spam and still hear a chime to tell you someone you care about said something. Also, removing the offender's text from the chat log when you block them would be a nice touch.

Personally I have a couple of linkshells that I use to talk to friends privately, to me it's a lot better than sending tells since we can talk while doing separate dungeons and whatnot too. If you have any spare ls slots or ls you're currently in that you don't care about then I recommend trying that for the time being.

You would have to accept the friend invite for it to work. And people would just decline friend request from spam bots. In that case I think that would solve the problem of the spam bots friend requesting you and /tell-ing you.
