chocobo feeding and dying questions please ;/

1.. can i ask how exactly feeding chocobos work is there a level required b4 u can feed it certain foods??

i can feed my chocobo the krakka roots no problem so grew some curiel to see how different the exp values were and am unable to feed :(

2. best way to get from dalamund red to midnight blue?? currently im stuck in a loop between dalamund red --> rolanberry red --> regal purple

ive been following these to different charts but nothin i try seems to work :(

You use curiel roots in the field to give it the buff. Summon the chocobo, then use the curiel root. At least, that's how I recall it's done.

oo i thought was like krakka n fed via stable :( guess that explains things tyvm much appreciated :3

The feed to get Exp and to dye it must be given to the chocobo via the Stable in Privet or FC house. The basic exp feed with no buff is Karka Root its the cheepest and easyest to obtain) the other feeds you intercross for the seends with gardening they will give buffs to your chocobos healing, Hp, Dps, tanking, or exp gain from mobs.

Dyeing your chocobo you much give it the dye feed, witch the seeds are obtaind from Hunt seals, after feeding your chocobo you must keep it in the stable for 6hrs. If removed it will not change color. Go to http://ffxivchocobo.com/ to see the requied amout to feed it for the color you want.

I belive the min lvl to do this is 15 but im not sure.

As far as i know they all give the same amount of exp based on the chocobos current rank after feeding it witch ever food each Hr. Curiel Root will give the chocobo exp buff agents mobs but not the food you feed it.

If your chocobo is at regal purple try:
4 × Apples, 10 × Pears, 10 × Berries

Try alternateing the fruits when feeding to the chocobo. Maybe like 5 pears then 3 berries 2 apple etc.... till you feed them all to the chocobo.

When explained to me train your Chobo 5 times in the stable with the Curiel Root then it will be his favorite food and you get the EXP UP II ,see Lagretta's post, when Curiel Root is used in combat. Only you can do this other ppl training your Chobo will not count toward the 5.
