DRG Chaos Thrust

2.45 Notes say behind target for the extra 50 potency while ingame it says target's flank. Which one is true?

You can also test in on a dummy yourself and try hitting it from both sides. You will definitely see the difference. Chaos thrust is definitely from the back.

Despite it being painfully obvious that it's supposed to be from the rear, it doesn't stop roving bands of loldrgs everywhere from gluing themselves to the mobs flank, some even going so far as to bad mouth DRGs who know better and use it from the rear because "the tooltip says so".

...well shiz, I've been doing it from the flank because of that. >_>

I mean, they've had a couple hot-fixes. I would've thought that would have been a priority to fix.

Yes! Shame on folks for reading the ability description & believing it is true. Medica says it heals all party members in range but we all know Medica is a self heal.
Believing what the game says & teaches...f'ing noobs...

Shame on folks who argue with those who tell them better. Shame on folks who suddenly think a rear combo changed to a flank combo, and instead of checking to see if it's correct (takes all of a couple seconds), just blindly follows the now very wrong tooltip. Shame on those that somehow managed to miss the correct info plastered all over chat in game, on here, in the patch notes, and literally every other website dedicated to FFXIV information.

It's rear.

But if you had any doubts, you could have tested the damage on a dummy's rear and flank.
The raw damage difference between a 200 potency and a 250 potency hit is pretty noticeable.
