PSA: You can change your Thread Titles

Double-click any of the non-hyperlinked words under the title name in the forum topic list, e.g. "Started by".

Now, if only we could get rid of the 1k Character Limit (or ease up on it).

Eh 5 seconds is not that big a deal. Besides honestly most posts that high or higher don't get completely read.
