So I'm moving to China pretty soon, besides the whole proxy issue with the firewall blocking stuff, what should I do to make sure that my US edition of FFXIV still will work? Last time I visited there all the internet connections I used timed out at connecting to version check. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you could find a program that allow you to have a IP that allow you to play then your set. I really don't know of any tho maybe someone here can help you out.

According to some rumours the game was made in china xD... the problem is though that it wasn't developed for China. The government will probably try everything to stop you from playing on international servers (chinese online gaming regulations). Might be possible that ports get blocked, packets sniffed, etc.
If it doesn't work with a proxy, your chances are slim to ever get it to work :/ -

Okay, so I understand I need to run this through a proxy server, how do I go about setting up my computer or the game to do so? So far all I can find is web browser proxies. Links to instructions or PM'd instructions would be greatly appreciated.
