Monk Weapon Design?

After the release of 2.45 and being able to see what the Zodiac model is for Monk, I'm extremely disappointed. The Kaiser Knuckles and all of the recent primal weapon designs have the user "piercing" or "slashing" the enemy.

This design goes against the basic fighting style and lore of Monks and Pugilists. We deal blunt force damage, striking the target rapidly in succession to deliver damage. We even have a skill with a debuff which "reduces blunt damage resistance" on mobs. So why is it that almost every end game weapon and glamour item is designed around piercing and slashing the target?

I would love to see some designs that reinforce the blunt damage. In the Pugilist guild, there are a few shrines devoted to previous pugilists. On one of these shrines is a pair of boxing gloves. I would love to see something like these implemented in game.

agree! the new 2.45 design is just.... awful...

While I can’t give a specific time frame, we will be adding more weapons that stay true to the blunt nature of your fist instead of weapons that are sharp and pointy.

Still wishing for a transparent monk weapon so we can just use our fists or some sort of "tattoo" in place of having to always wield a weapon as a hand to hand combat class...

We absolutely need this!

Personally, I never found the Sphairai model to be akin to an effective weapon, until you upgraded it and there were glowing orbs or light from within the tigers' mouths which made me think of punching with energy...
But I digress. This newer model actually looks like a more effective weapon.

The actual origin of the Sphairai is partly depicted as a blunt type weapon, however, as pulled from the historical origin from ffxiclopedia:

This can be confirmed as well by searching for, "Sphairai greece" in a search engine for even more sources.
So slashing, piercing, as well as blunt damage are all in the history of hand-to-hand weaponry.

I would rather it look like gloves, like I am using my fists
