[dev1020] Party System Changes - Menu Interface for "Party" from main menu...?

Hey guys. One irritating thing in the game that has gotten to me so much lately is the Party menu under the main menu. It's so confusing to use, and it doesn't seem to be as efficient and easy-to-follow as FFXI's was. Now don't yell at me for bringing FFXI into this. I'm all for a new and "innovative" search feature which enables us to do so much. But when I'm unable to even perform a basic search of someone in the world it seems like such a hassle. I miss the old FFXI way of just typing /sea all Name and getting a result. It seems like I have to write an equation just to find one person. Honestly.

And if it's not as confusing as I'm stating it to be, then why the hell hasn't SE released a guide on it? Seriously, they have guides for even the most basic of things. So why not this? Or is it really that confusing that even the devs can't explain it? /sigh

I don't mean to sound so cold. I have high hopes for this game and do stay optimistic that sometime down the line they will address this. But it doesn't seem to be getting mention from the devs. So I just had to make this topic here to see what the community thinks.

Better than a guide, they should weave a tutorial on it into the beginner quests. Like for example, the low level Ul'dah quest where you need to escort the cat girl (F'hlammin I think) to wherever. She should walk you through inviting her to a party or setting up recruitment or joining.

I agree. XI's party search function is extremely convenient. Really don't know why they would replace it with the cumbersome one we have in XIV now. Guess it's just another case of being different purely for the sake of being different.

I'm sure they'll change it, on this in the development section it says "Redesign of UI elements in line with new party system"
