Hi all!
I have only been playing for about a month or so and am enjoying the game well enough to make a subscription!
I was wondering though if they do holiday events like other games do? I looked online but can only see events from 2012 and earlier?

They do. Sounds like you just missed All Saints' Wake, but you're on time for Starlight Celebration and Heavensturn (those are last year's; likely won't be the same this year). Edit: There are more, those are just the ones around this time of year.

Yes, there are many holiday events.
There are quite a few special events, some surrounding holidays and others as cross-over events promoting other Square-Enix titles.

The seasonal events are really great. The rising (anniversary/memorial event) was my favorite this year. It was a bit emotional for me doing the quests while that eerie version of Answers played.
Starlight should be soon, followed by the new years event heavensturn. Please look forward to it!
