do smaller servers really not

know things like the sup method for garuda? i do garuda, ifrit and levi in duty for boredom, ponies, because i know they have a high clear rate and in levi's case it happens to be my favorite fight but when i join garuda and ask at the beginning "sup method?" i'll either get nothing, we start get to the part where sup method would start so i mark chi to be ignored and sup as #1. then either everybody ignores the marks and attacks chi anyways, dps splits and we wipe, or tanks get confused and everything is everywhere. after we wipe they'll comment on why the stupid marking were there and that they've never heard of sup method. or i get told right at the beginning they have no clue what sup method is.

even had one person call me a liar and tell me it wasn't a real thing lol. on gilgamesh you can't find a party finder group that isn't doing sup method as it's simply the fastest. what do the smaller servers do? not picking on anybody i'm merely curious

From what I get from google it sounds quite reasonable for non-DF party setups and a little overgearing - but if you get no answer in DF, better expect them to _not_ know this strat and do the way it's ment to be played ^^

SUP method is like, the best really. Especially now with everyone being over geared for that content. It's how I learned GEX and run it every time I go in. Super simple, super fast.

i was under the belief that it was the most common method :o. sup method is you only attacking sup after the first time you kill chi and sup. after the first time you ignore chi completely and only kill sup since you can hurt garuda normally after she's dead. you can finish garuda ex in 5mins or less with this method.

Been a long time since I have done garuda ex, probably not since i90 became useless. So I would also have no idea what you are talking about. I am on a smaller server and cannot even remember the last time I saw a garuda farm.

Probably shouldn't assume any strat in DF with that little communication, marking targets is kinda passive-aggressive and usually confuses people. Not everyone knows what your marks mean (or even acknowledges them), text before hand or go with the flow I would assume.

The Suparna method is the only way I've ever killed Ruda, I'm on Lamia and I played with mostly FC and FC members friends though.

You may want to try communicating a bit more beforehand about what the markings mean... People don't read minds; and they certainly won't if they don't know the method.

And use fuller sentences when asking people if they know sup method. If you just write "Sup method?", they might assume the Sup means 'sup, and that you're either a person with a bad grasp of English, or someone asking what the method is, or that you know a player who you happen to call method.

This isn't a "smaller server" thing. It's just a "people other than you" thing.
Just because you know a strat, you can't go into DF and expect anyone else to know it, or it's moniker.

DF takes people from all servers... not just yours and the smaller ones. That means it also takes in players from the other larger-servers. Which means you're highly-likely to get people from other larger-servers rather than people from smaller servers just 'cause that's where the most people are.

So, if you're going into DF and people aren't knowing what "sup method" is... your first question shouldn't be "what are the smaller servers doing?" It should be "what are the other servers doing? (and likely, the other larger ones).

But, if you really want to know what happens on smaller servers, I'm on Zalera. We used to be small, but now we're medium-ish or so.

Anyway, PF on smaller servers doesn't use "different methods for Garuda EX" or things like that... PF on smaller servers simply doesn't exist.
Well, it does, but it's used much less just because there are fewer people, which makes it tougher to fill and people tend to realize that it's easier to just use DF or their known FC/friends.

I personally don't check PF much on Zalera, but I do check it 6 or 7 times a week. I've never seen it have more than 7 or 8 parties at the same time, in total (last 6-8 months or so).
It generally averages about 1-to-3 different parties to choose from.

If your server really is small, you either use your known-FC and fill from DF, or you generally just use DF anyway because you know that PF is probably not going to fill up quickly.

But none of this has anything to do with knowing "sup method."

People will know sup method because they've either seen it before or they looked it up.
Looking up possible strats is completely independent of being on a large server or a small server... that just depends on the kind of person playing the game.

Seeing it before, however, is slightly dependent on being an "other server" than yours, since yours says it all over PF so it's a way people can see it.
