Unusual advice request

I'm at the stage of thinking about looking for a FC to join for occasional help and company. Problem is I struggle socially. I often play alone as it's peaceful and stress-free. Not that I believe a FC causes stress, it's me that does that for myself, silly bean I am.

I do not believe I'm the only one that is shy and finds socialising with people I don't know stressful. So, to anyone who understands what I'm saying and feeling, can you please give your personal opinion as to whether a small and friendly FC is better or whether a larger FC where you can ignore chat and kinda hide among the crowd without anyone noticing when you don't feel up to joining it is easier?
I really don't know which to go for.

Hi there. I normally play alone myself too as well as not communicating much, but that hasn't stopped me from joining a free company. I've been with quite a few small ones, but found I was the only one online and I wasn't getting anywhere with getting helped out.

Now, I'm with Ps4 Pro Gaming 24-7 <Ps4> , they're one of the largest on Zodiark, but I ignore whats going on in the chatbox anyway as well as not talking. But if you're in trouble, theres someone who'll respond back.

I don't know if you're interested, but its a suggestion. Send an in-game request to Mitsubishi Evo if you are.

One thing you could do is remove fc chat from your main chat window and make a seperate tab for those occasional times.

Well, I play in a moderately sized FC (123 members) and I have to say, the FC is helping a lot with some issues I've been having lately. It's like having a second family

It depends but a smaller social focused FC might be more of an interest to you if nothing else it can help you get better integrated with the people there and actually overcome the issues(or atleast expand your circle of people you know to make it easier). You'll actually get to know people and the shyness should get reduced a lot(I never was much for FCs(social awkwardness here) yet here I am more than a year later, went through 3 and am now one of the co-leaders that the people I played with(in some cases over a year now) have setup).

But yes you can just delegate the FC chat to a different tab so you don't see what's going on in either case.

You say your problem is socializing with people you don't know. If you join a small FC it'll be easier to know everyone.
