What to do, how to do it?

Hey all... So I just started my sub up, woo Poetics and Soldiery being the new Myth :p (Figured this thread would be refreshing with how General Discussion has been as of late)

Anyway, I've always wanted to step myself into Coil and EX Primals etc etc, but to be quite frank, I'm too apprehensive. I'm still sitting at Garuda HM, not really wanting to get chewed out for not tanking it perfectly since I absolutely hate being the reason a group wipes.

This has been the only thing that has stopped me from advancing and enjoying the game and I don't really know what to do. I've joined some FCs but never really got around to joining/making a static within them. So now I'm just gearing myself up to i100-i120 for my tanks and getting my next Relic upgrades for them etc etc.

Didn't really want this to turn into a complaint/whining thread but, I do feel at quite a loss. Don't really know how to step myself forward.

Edit: Just realized I said Garuda HM :v I meant EX >x> I'm not -that- apprehensive

Fix this and maybe things will change for you in terms of working out those more difficult dungeons. Good luck!

I think you might feel apprehensive because you don't have experience but after a few runs you'll start memorizing mechanics enough that you'll feel a lot more confident about it. So my advice is to just read up or watch a video on the fight you want to learn and then DF it a few times. After you get some experience and build up that confidence in how well you can tank the particular fight, maybe start a PF or ask FC mates to join you for the win. Best of luck with it!

I always felt this way back when 2.0 first came out and I started PLD (was mnk all through 1.0). Honestly your not going to feel comfortable until you get in there and try, learn, fail(there is no shame in failing, unless you choose to not learn from it), and finally succeed.

Gather a few friends and just explain exactly what you posted. "Can I get some help learning/clearing Garuda HM". Alternatively you can create PF stating that its a learning party and wipes will be expected.

The best advice I can give you is DO NOT be afraid to ask questions lol... if a mechanic happens and you do not understand it, ask what the appropriate method for dealing with it is. Also once you DO finally get out there and start tackling content you will start to feel more comfortable taking on new challenges as well.

I've tried Garuda HM as both a tank and a healer, probably rusty now so I guess I'll try after I hit i100. After that I can continue with my Main Scenario.

I'll try joining a FC and see if I can expand my friends list since most on it have stopped playing it seems :p

And as usual, read up on the fights before hand.
