Mount scaling is ridiculous.

It is.

Horses, lions and bears the size of house pets is laughable, regardless of the justification.

Having a 1 side fits all scale for mounts like with the Behemoth and friendship Chocobo is the way to go.

lions and bears sure, but horses, there's real life small breeds, makes perfect sense to me. Just like the different chocobo breeds for different races.

Real life small horses don't look like miniature full size horse. Their proportions are different. This is why scaling full size mounts looks weird. You can't go wrong with one size fits all.
