Changing Gender Question

So I am thinking about changing genders, same race just changing to a guy. Now my question is what happens to all my gear, I really most worried about my main gear like poetics, and sold gear. Will I not be able to equip them? What about all my dresses, Do I get a male equivalent like the sailor suit? Please help!! O.o

Anything that's unisex will work, but your gender specific gear (bridesmaid, lv1 starting gear, spring dress, etc) will be gated.

Why can't men wear dresses?

There is an NPC that lets your exchange one gender's gear for another's, so don't worry about the gender locked gear

So will My bridal dress be exchangeable at the npc?

I'm not sure... The male version is available to both sexes, so I doubt it. I think it only applies to event things, such as The bathing suits and yukatas.

as of 2.4 there is a skirt men can wear, its called plain skirt iirc
