Yeah, that's the ironworks seal of quality. You probably tore off the little alligator on your shirts as a kid, didn't you?

I wouldn't mind it so much if the orange was transparent >_>

Honestly, that orange thing is obnoxious, it would be nice if we could replace that with our FC symbols. We're the damn saviors of Eorzea, I'm sure they can allow us that amount of customization on their precious creation.

I agree, the logo is so small that it is hardly more than a blur, and with the bright orange, it looks more like one of the textures that developers use to find objects that are missing textures.
