Daily Hunt Suggestions

Suggestions Summary:
- Increase the Allied Seal reward from Daily Hunt Bills.
- Increase the Seals rewarded from Rare/Long Respawn FATE Hunts.
- Add a Weekly FATE Elite Boss Hunts.
- Lower the price of Fluff/Cosmetic Gear.

Exchange Rate Breakdown:

Current Exchange Rate:
34 seals x 7 days = 238 seals, 238 seals + Weekly Elite Bonus = 288 seals.
Reward: 0 Gear a Week. 1 Piece every 2-3 weeks.

Present day Allied Seal Prices: Gear costs 375, 400, and 660 seals a piece.
All Armor Slots: 2,820 seals
All Accessory Slots: 1,200 seals
1 Class fully geared: 4,020 seals

Suggested Exchange rate:
50 seals x 7 days = 350 seals, 350 seals + Weekly Elite Bonus = 400 seals.
Reward: 1 piece of ilvl100 gear every 1-2 week(s).

Reason:
I understand full well that ilvl 100 gear should not come quickly, nor be served up on a silver platter.

But bumping Daily Hunt Bill Allied Seal rewards to 45 or 50 a day would bring the acquisition rate closer to how it was during ilvl90 but also keep it slow enough to not just hand the gear over.
Before 2.4 it took time but getting ilvl 90 gear was very doable and the progression was noticeable. It had had a very good pace, everyday a player could log off and see their goal in the distance.

FATE Hunt Targets:
Current FATE Hunt Bill Rate:
10 Seals

Suggested FATE Hunt Bill Rate:
15 Regular FATE Bosses (Frequent FATEs, and common FATEs)
25 for Rare FATE Bosses (Those with 1hr+ respawn timers)

Reason:
Currently some of the Daily Hunt bills are for FATE Bosses they award 10 Seals, however some of these FATEs have timers of 1hr 30mins and/or only appear a certain # of times a day.
Even before the new gear hit, 10 Seals for those FATEs was questionable. But the Vendor prices made it tolerable. 10 Seals was a lot pre-2.4.
If anything the FATE required seals should be worth 15 seals, with long respawn/Rare FATEs rewarding significantly more seals due to the rarity & time committed.

Weekly FATE Elite Boss Hunts:

Suggestion:
Add Weekly Hunts for the “Raid” like FATEs.

Reason:
Currently FATEs like “Lazy for You”& “It’s Not Lupis” go ignored completely & they are fun FATEs.
Turning them into a Weekly Hunt Bill would help shine some light on these FATEs & help casual gamers experience them & give them another Weekly Allied Seal Hunt to go after.

Cosmetic Hunt Gear:
Suggestion:
- Reduce the gear from 1000 seals to around 300-500 seals.

Reason:
There is no reason why fluff armor should cost more than ilvl100 gear. The stats on the gear are garbage. This gear is obviously for Aesthedic purposes so why charge 2 arms and 2 legs?

Addendum:

I’m passionate about this because as a Solo Player, I’m 50% Casual 50% Hardcore.
I prefer Dungeons, and withsome friends who do nothing but Raid & Zerg Hunts I get a nice outside perspective on things & one thing FFXIV has done right is giving players of various playstyles ways to progress without balance being broken.
However the recent changes have made the Daily Hunt Bills feel useless & what use to be noticeable progress is no more.
Now unless you are Zerging A & S Rank Hunts (A playstyle many, many, many folks dislike. It also brings out the very worst in people.) it's an extremely tedious grind.

That said...
For some folks, they are hitting lvl 50 & the only way for them to geared is to do Daily Hunts, they can't join Dungeons because folks vote kick them for not being overgeared. (Happens to me now in my ilvl90 gear.)
"You'll only slow us down." is what folks say then *Kick*.
"You should farm ilvl100 gear before Queuing." *Kick*

I know the behavior of players is not the Devs fault. However the playerbase has decided to create their own requirements & sometimes the Devs need to respond in turn.
I just want to play the game, progress, and keep having a blast.
The Hunt system has been invaluable in this. I want to see it stay strong & carry on.

More options are never a bad thing.

Would be nice if hunts became more relevant again come 2.5 with more poetics and carbon exchanges. I prefer hunts over the dungeon grind.

I really like your breakdown and math. Well thought out post that echoes a concern of my own. The only thing I wonder about is how that'll change the acquisition of the new Zodiac weapon items that Allied seals are used for? I'm sure they took the current exchange rates into account when they set those prices. Granted, it's as simple as increasing the cost of those items, but still...

Do people actually do daily hunts other than the ones they happen to come across? Wow. I just hold onto one daily for the whole week and don't even complete the trash mob ones :P
