Design flaw: Riviera Fence??

Hi all, now that I finally got a house it's time to bother people with my ideas...

I noticed that with the "Riviera Fence" which is beautiful btw, it is designed with square corners, such squares that can be filled with something, but so far nothing fits!, I thought the "Stone Vigil Beacon" would make a kick butt decoration to put in the square corners but sadly nothing works so far :(
if indeed nothing can be put in them, I suggest make it so we can, or add a lamp or a torch in it.
please share your ideas, thoughts, or corrections.

EDIT: I also noticed today that those square corners, eats out your space, while other fences don't
