Question about level syncing

I always assumed that all gear got synced to level 80. As in, synced UP and synced DOWN. Someone mentioned that there was no upwards syncing. I find that stupid cause then that's not "normalized at all" (even though I have gear way over level 80, I just picked weak gear because of the stat slots). Is it true that you only get synced downwards? If so, I've been gimping myself so bad this entire time...

The only gear that syncs up is pvp gear with morale on it (ex: i70 pvp gear with 10 morale syncs up to 70+10=80). Any other gear less than i80 will remain whatever ilvl it is and does not sync up.

Wow. The fact that I've been doing this good with subi80 gear. I can't wait to dominate.

Gear matters, but is not the key factor in PvP performance. The better performing players in Frontlines are ones who undestand strategy, help team members when needed and know how to utilize their abilities efficiently. Gear is icing on the cake.
