Remember how excited you were?

I remember sitting there watching the Sony Press conference at E3 2009 when they first announced FFXIV.....ONLINE. At first I was like huh, then it sunk in. Holy Shit, a new FF MMORPG. And being a player of FFXI since the US release I was so excited. I immediately called my buddy and told him and he got excited to especially since it was announced for PS3. So now here it is 8/9/2011 and my buddy still can't play because it hasn't been released for PS3 yet and his pc can't run it. We have played all MMORPG games together up until now. Come on SE I know you guys can get this game on track. Well anyway I was just bored at work...carry on lol.

I remember some conference that they broadcasted online that I stayed up till early morning hours like 3am my time to watch lol. Oh back on track yes I have friends of mine that would love to play on ps3 and are still waiting.

XI lived in the age of "PS2 limitations", sadly I think XIV is going to be hit with the "PS3 limitations" lecture. Having started playing XI on PS2 and played it on console for 5+ years I fully support SE's hard work porting it to a console. However... I do not want SE to pass over new features / awesome stuff that would work on PC JUST because of the PS3. I think if it comes to the point of "PS3 couldn't run it" for a new feature or area or graphic for XIV (which it probably already has) then PS3 just shouldn't get it. I don't want us to have copy and paste everywhere, crappy effects, yet a beautiful world just because it would cap out the PS3's RAM =/.

Kind of a rant, and maybe off topic, but just my two cents on the matter.

EDIT: I'm under the impression Rage of Halone and the other few skills that got awesome animations is just the start of a wave of graphic improvements because I understand we already have what I said we don't want us to lol. I don't want us to keep the copy/paste and crappy effects.

it should just be "console limitations" because no matter the generation of system, PCs can always be expanded and game consoles can not. I understand the drawbacks, and advantages to having an MMORPG multiplatform, as I dont complain when a limitation is hit.

To the topic at hand, I planned on getting the game for both PC and PS3, so the delay does not really bother me, but I do feel for the people that can only play it on PS3, and when the time comes, they will enjoy this game, as by then it will be a real release. Right now, there is nothing to "miss" the game is a wreck and it is being repaired.

I would rather play FF14 on the Wii-U. it would be even better if they got Shigeru Miyamoto to help out with the dungeons and story.

I was very excited when I heard about this game. I played xi since NA release for about 6-7 years. And it is easily the best experience in an MMO (I have played many since then) I have ever had. I don't think xi was a very well made game, but it created a unique experience other games could not offer me.

I purchased a new pc in september of last year, had CE edition on preorder. I got off work early the day it came out so I could run home and install, I was that excited.

I just discovered Final Fantasy last July. It was November 2010, I couldn't find a computer to use it until January when my boss saw i had it. He grabbed it and installed it on his computer for me, If i hadn't brought FF14 to work that day it would never have bean able to play it.

Despite my tone being a bit serious I wasn't being as negative as it may have sounded. I do support the cross platforminess that the FF MMOs have had and always thought it was a really awesome feature. Most games are console specific and or region specific, XI was the only game I've played that not only had cross-region but also cross-platform and I thought it was really awesome. But, 9 years later on XI we can't even get new auto-translate because of those last few people still on the PS2 after they bricked most of them a few updates back. I just don't want XIV to suffer the same fate of being incapable of expansion due to the PS3 holding it back.

Yeah, I just hope it comes together soon before we lose to many people. No matter what I'm going to stick it out with FFXIV, but I know some people will leave for SW:TOR or TERA. The most ill do is try another mmo out for a week to see how much it sucks compared to FFXIV lol. There's just something about FFXI and FFXIV that I can't let go of.
