Possible server merges?

I have been away from the game for about 3 months, and decided to come back and take a look after the recent changes. I am liking some of the combat changes and its even made me interested in playing again.

But I've logged in at different times over the last 3 days, and everywhere is... empty. I know there are posts saying population is down, and I don't want this to turn into another one of those. I'm just curious about how the people currently playing would feel about having some servers merged?

The lower level camps on my server have been completely empty. Maybe the people left playing are all high level, I'm not sure.

I would honestly say no server merges or transfers until after PS3 launch. If we all start moving around before PS3 launch that'll create ghost town servers which aren't good for anyone. If they merge servers there's the chance that the PS3 launch will draw in more people than the new number of servers can handle, at which point they'd just have to create new servers again. Such things are very big decisions and I'd rather they wait until after the PS3 population has stabilized to make them.

Totally depends on the server. Selbina always has people running about. don't see any possibility for any kind of server merges till much later in the future after PS3 release.

Population is much higher then it was 3 weeks ago.

And this topic comes up at least 2 times a week, use the search please repetitive negative threads will end up getting you flamed.

Server mergers would basically be square pulling the plug on the game... to much negative stigma associated with mergers.

Is there the ISTORY server running?

That's strange, Kashuan has jumped in population in the past 1-2 months.
But for the server question, I do not beleive that it would be a good idea. You never know though.

Go to Uldah. Tons of people there.

i would not want serge merge until ps3 release.

what square enix can do is like cross server dungeon find. you can party with people in other server and join dungeon.

or maybe add like servent NPC thats follows you and help you in battle. hire tank, healer npc etc.

zoekwon, that is a pretty good idea.
I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to talk to someone from another server.
Maybe it should go further though, like multi-server market wards.
