PS4 Retail Version unable to load without disc being in system

I recently bought a PS4 and a retail copy of FFXIV. I have a retail copy of the game on PS3, but decided against using the free upgrade in case I ever have a problem with my PS4, so that I will still be able to access FFXIV on my PS3. However, I notice that if I don't have the disc inserted in the system while playing/booting the game, it will not let me play. Also the PSN store now prevents me from buying the digital copy (saying I have already own that game), so that I can avoid switching discs. The PS3 did not have this issue with the retail copy. I hope there is a way to fix this, cause it is a pain to have to keep switching out discs when I want to play another game while waiting for friends to log on.
