Missed ONE >>1<< Duty Finder commence, and now I have 30 minutes penalty.

How can you screw up such simple coding? This was my second duty today. The first one commenced very quickly and had no withdraws. I was under the impression that the counter resets every day.

I had a party yesterday which had some afk people so there was two timed out duties during the time i was in the party.

I should not be penalised for something not under my control. Why should withdraws in a full party even be counted, or why does it apply to the other seven people who didn't push withdraw?

I welcomed this change when i read the patch notes, but it's obvious that this wasn't well thought out and implemented in a sloppy way.

Working as intended. The ONLY TIME you get penalized while queueing with a full pt is when you queue for CT/ST/FL. This is the only time becuase if you withdraw it screws over the 16 others. Makes perfect sense to me. I've queued for SCoB with a full pt, had people withdraw and no penalty. So if you got a penalty you probably queued for something that took more that 1 full pt.
Best way to solve this problem is to do a ready check before queue and kick/stop pting with trolls.

What shocks me more is that people are "Surprised" by this rule. It was in the patch notes. And there's been a multitude of threads started over this and in each one people act like they have never heard of this before. I just don't get it....

Bull. I did not do ST. We were doing Howling Eye (Hard) yesterday. And someone was afk while the party leader queued, so naturally it timed out. This happened twice.

Even if that is true. The others should not be penalised for one players actions.

The daily reset hasn't happened yet. That timer resets at 9am PST so there's still an hour and 45 mins until reset. Make proper use of Ready Check and this typically won't happen.

Then you weren't a full premade. I know for fact that queuing an 8-man with a full party does not penalize you because I had multiple withdraws from people during Shiva EX runs with no penalty.

Actually, can a mod please delete this thread? I noticed there already is a thread about this issue which i somehow missed.

I do like the new changes but some things make it broken.

Like I queued up for garuda hm during nexus bonus, teleported to Mor dhona (big mistake)
Queue popped during loading screen and it canceled before loading screen was done.

And I got locked out 30 min for that...

Maybe they could make it 5 strikes and reset it every 12 hours instead of every 24. Other than that it's working fine. They can't code in exceptions for things like teleporting or being in a CS or in a Leve etc. because those are avenues that people could use to exploit the system. Want to In Prog fish? Just teleport or pop one of the repeatable quest dialogs and cancel the queue/time it out until you get the In Prog. Trust me if they had made exceptions for this people would be complaining even more because they would STILL be getting locked out because they went to the bathroom and the withdraw spam would still be happening.

The problem isn't how many strikes it takes to get to the penalty, it is the fact that somebody elses error, penalizes the entire group. I had a similar event where I was helping someone catch up by doing Battle on the Big Bridge. One of the members was in a long series of CS's dialog and couldn't get through in time. Because of that, I was penalized and had to sit out for 30mins. At the time, i was the tank, so the rest of the group just sat in DF for 30mins, then re-invited me and it instant flagged.

I loved the idea of people that withdrew getting a penalty when I heard about it, but only the player withdrawing should receive that penalty. On top of that, as far as I know, a preformed group of any amount will never be put into a group in progress, so they can't use the multiple players to abuse the system if it was that way.

TL:DR Don't penalize the entire party because one player makes a mistake.
