I wanted to just sit in my corner and say nothing. I did. However as a crafter gatherer type person I cannot sit and say nothing to what has happened here. The new gear we have to craft is meh and the upgraded stats are not noteworthy. Sure theres that one free extra meld spot and sure they may meld higher some. But 3 points here or there while it adds up is not a big jump in the grand scheme of things. This gear should have been ILVL 70 and on par with the new OT and the MH before it. I just don't get it and the pieces gosh are over 3 mil to 4 mil for some.
I have no problems with people making money on gear. Hell I do the same thing too. So my complaint as you might deem it is not about the MB or it's prices. It's to be expected considering what it takes to make this new gear and the mats it takes. I do see that for sure. I just do not get why SE was so meager and small in its rewards of stats on this gear. Why was it ILVL60 and not 70? That's my real beef and leaves me worried for the days to come. How much more small rewards for over exaggerated work are the next crafting or gathering gears gonna be like?
If someone can show me how all this new gear is so worth it please do so. I would love to rest easier tonight.

Which is fine to me. As long as I get a chance to do it. With these hurdles to gear right now and the time it takes some of us, some faster than others I know, but the gear becomes outdated and obsolete before you can even make it and with the stats sometimes I have to wonder why bother.Quote:

IMO, it's the offhands that are really worth a look at (which requires master I books). The problem is that they're all gated by materials that are only obtainable by Rank 7 Ixali...when SE said something along the lines of "We don't want beast tribes awarding best stuff" or something something... when they added their input about the ixali smithing gloves.
The Master II books also put you at the mercy of RNG unlike any I've ever seen as far as crafting is concerned, moreso than crafting the stuff for the master I books. -

3 points of control here and there on the new pieces is not "meh". It is absolutely 100% no if-ands-or-buts about it REQUIRED to do 4 star crafts. The actual value of those few points of control is minuscule in terms of how much quality it gives. However, they're necessary to meed the new crafter gear check for 4 star crafts (451 craftsmanship / 407 control). Unless you penta-meld the new offhand tool with tier IV materia, it is impossible to reach the minimum reqs for the new recipes without the new i60 crafter body pieces. So no, it's not "little reward", it's 100% necessary and worth it.

You put in INSANE levels of effort to get to 3-star only to have all your hard work completely undone because you need to meld another set of gear with PERFECT stats (which is no cakewalk) just to get that measly 3 control. What they SHOULD have done is create PROPER level 70 gear which would also act as a means for giving a bit more leeway for people who aren't lucky enough to be able to penta-meld everything with expensive materias.Quote:
