Is it now impossible to get a Wind-Up Dalamud Minion?

As many are aware, you can only get this minion from being a lucky owner of the 1st Edition Before Meteor: Final Fantasy XIV Original Soundtrack.

The official EU SE store has been sold out for a long time now. Those who bought a copy at Fan Fest were not supplied 1st Editon copies (so no code for the minion). It turns out those who got a copy at MCM Expo in London were supplied with the 1st Edition copies though.

The codes that come with them must be redeemed by the end of this year, so the time is getting short to acquire one. Is it now impossible to get the code for this?

Does anyone else think it's a bit strange that they can only supply the codes for this with some of the editions? It seems like such a simple digital item is so hard to acquire for something so easy to produce.

It definitely is getting harder to find a store selling unopened first-edition copies of Before Meteor now with the minion code intact and unused (the third-party online store I bought my first-edition copy at release last year from sold out months ago and now only sells second-edition copies). But you might be lucky and find a store who still has stock, but it is getting more difficult.
