"Launcher/Updater already running"

Hey everyone,

I have been playing FFXIV ARR since release and just recently took a 3-month break. I came back this morning to check on the game and I keep receiving an "Updater/Launcher is already running." message. I've tried to run as administrator and even tried uninstalling the game and receive the same error. There is no program running and I've restarted my computer multiple times to make sure. I haven't updated my windows system either. Using Windows 8. The only thing that is different from before is now when I search for the Application In my computer the Application is highlighted in red. I have never seen that before. Any ideas? Thanks!
