Restored character prompted to change name but name is unused

Hi, I was redirected here by customer service. A while back I created a secondary character who I deleted and ended up restoring. I read how long restores take, so I created a back-up character to reserve the deleted character's name just in case. After deleting the back-up character and checking to see that the character no longer exists on Ultros, it appears that the restored character still requires a name change. Does anyone know if that prompt will eventually disappear or can be overwritten? Or do I really have to change the character's name? Thanks! :D
