Follow quest chain to chimera fight
Complete chimera fight and leave via duty finder
Report back to Gerolt
Gerolt gave starting quest again and did not continue from Chimera fight.

Additional information:
Purchased/crafted another set of vamper's knives and redid the quest chain. After Chimera fight used the exit portal and not the leave function from the duty finder. After doing this the chain continued on as normal. This however is not proper function as if using the leave function invalidates the quest it should mark it as a failure in the quest log and require the quest to be done again not a completion.

I get that this is a game and everything is digital but I'd like to get the vamper's knives and materia returned to me as this was 300k+(first and 2nd set of knives+materia) I'm now out of due to this bug. I can also provide screenshots of the quest for Chimera being accepted and being completed.
