So i'm sad...

Discouraged too, I came back to the game a few months ago. Started catching up on the content, main quest, updated my gathering and crafting. Got all that done and started on regearing some of my classes.

Was able to jump to af2 on bard, monk, and blm with the allied seals. Perfect for an initial gear upgrade. Was able to get into some of the content right away with the jump in the gear number.

So I was at the point where I could start getting some of the weathered gear. And started doing hunts. Perfect, could get allied seals, logs, solidery and upgrade to a full piece no problem.

Well now just because poetics don't drop from hunts nobody is doing them and I'm screwed..No way to get allied seals unless I don't the low level hunts which is so slow. No way to get a decent amount of solidery unless I spam dungeons and I hate the duty finder because of all the cry babies...

So yeah, discouraged:)

Any words of wisdom?

It's been long time since I grinding for seals, but I thought they drastically lowered the cost of items from the hunts vendor to make up for the large decrease in seal gathering?

The game isn't "Final Fantasy XIV: Hunts". Hunts were broken and bound to get fixed. If you don't like dungeons then I'd suggest moving on since they're the main portion of this game.

Drop that dungeon prejudice and do your roulettes / ST, problem solved.

Sands/Oil of Time drops from Syrcus Tower still and there's no weekly lockout on that raid any more. For Soldiery, maybe doing the daily roulettes for bonus(?) Those would be some alternatives I guess. Hunts will pretty much remain deadish till the majority has leveled their NIN and till one of the next patches offers upgrade items for Poetics gear through Hunt seals.

The DF makes me nervous as well. I suggest finding a good FC or LS that can help you out with dungeons. :) TBH, though... I'm still seeing enough folks at hunts to make them successful since some people still have alt classes to gear up. But this could be because my server isn't legacy. :/

Just wait till all these ninjas hit 50.

Remember that A ranks can be done with a small group.
The few times I managed to do an A rank in a small group it was a lot more fun then the usual zerg fest. ^^

A little trick around DF, is Party Finder, start forming your own parties, as soon as you log in. People tend to be much nicer when they know you'll be right on there server again ;)

Don't get discouraged! I was disappointed by the hunt rewards too, I expected a nerf, but the amount you get now is just laughable. I'd say 40 soldiery for an A rank (even if no poetics, or maybe even like 5 poetics) and 100 soldiery and 10-20 poetics for an S rank would have been decent. Maybe SE will rebalance hunts yet again, who knows?

The point is, there is other stuff to do and you have friends who are happy to run things with you :)
