Did 2.4 give us a clue about Yugiri's race?

Yugiri has reptilian features with a scaled tail and what may be horns beneath her hood. She has also warned us that she keeps her face concealed to avoid alarming people. Based on these features it's been a popular theory for a while that she may be a draconic race of some kind. This would also fit nicely with the theme of the expansion as it seems to be all about Dravania and would explain why she wears that mask (the Ishgardians would NOT take kindly to her).

Now that 2.4 has introduced to us the story of Shiva in Ishgardian history, however, we may have been given a another clue to Yugiri's origins. The Ishgardians claim Shiva was a heretic who lay with a dragon. Now whilst Minfillia questions how exactly that would work I'm wondering what her children might look like...

Is it possible Yugiri's race actually originate from Coerthas and Dravania as the children of this union of woman and dragon?

If this is the case, 3.0 will be fun, with half-dragon half-hyur people running around Ishgard.

Well in the lore panel @ Fan Fest they brought the question about hybrid races. They said it's possible and how such a union would have a stigma with it since all the races are still unfriendly to each other.

Wait, did they say they were horns in 2.4 story? I'm at work so haven't played yet. If you watch the original cutscenes the wind makes them wiggle. The same effect happens when she turns her head. They didn't appear to be anything rigid like horns. If they are horns, it's a major oversight to have them move around so much.

There's still a lot of debate over whether or not they are horns. I only said they could be. We don't really know.

I was merely making the suggestion that if she is a reptilian race (and horns or no horns the scaled tail suggests she is) it may be possible that her race originates from this inter-racial union. It would have everything link together quite nicely and would make the introduction of the new race actually relevant to the story and not some random addition just to say "New Race!" on the box. Whilst Yugiri does come from the far east I would imagine her kind would have been exiled by the Ishgardians so it's not hard to imagine how they ended up so far away.

Not sure about the relevance, but to paraphrase, yugiri said that there are sacred snow capped areas similar to Coerthas in which blood must not be spilled and that coerthas snow is steeped in blood.

Yugiri race origin being the union between dragon (beast) and man is possible then. It may explain why they're treated harshly by Garleans, but not to the point of genocide.

Most importantly, this'll still fall within the 5 great races since they're essentially half-man.

That is, of course, they are anything reptilian-like. They could have a reptile-like tail and still be covered in fur. Look at rats, they have fur on almost all parts of their body except their feet and tail, which are scaly. For all we know, Yugiri could be a race of rat-like beings. It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility, especially since she is a ninja (and there is a very famous rat ninja in the TMNT universe).

I always maintained that she is draconic under that hood. It would make for an interesting turn of events for the 3.0 conflict. Anyroad her hood will fall off in 2.5 I am sure of it. Yoshi-P already told us that Yugiri represent the new race. It wouldn't be much of a reveal if we already knew what it is. We will soon find out what Yugiri Mistwalker really is.

Of course this is all speculation under the presumption that she is reptilian. I just think this would make for the most interesting turn of events for the expansion. Until 2.5 reveals her face we have no way to know anything for sure.

Anyone else under the impression that she might be Eorzra's form of a Burmecian (Freya from FFIX)? The ears and tail would fit I'd say.
