Daily Alex map?

Does the daily alexandrite map quest still require you to do an expert roulette? Because that stuff is locked atm since they're new dungeons...and are a higher ilvl to complete than the old ones. So, wondering if we'll need to complete a more difficult dungeon for the same reward in order to obtain an "outdated" ilvl Novus? If so, I think that the Hard mode roulette should still fulfill the daily alex map quest requirement.

This is the second set of more difficult/locked dungeons for the Alexandrite map. Also even with the half priced alexandrite map from Auriana, it will take twice as long to obtain it from doing hunts seeing as now A hunts drop only 20 soli as compared to the 80 myth.

(except this patch one of three dungeons to unlock expert is locked behind the main story.)

The grind is much longer now for Alexandrite/Novus.

It's really only longer if you relied solely on hunts. It's pretty much the same if you did dungeons. 400 for a map, 50 per expert dungeon vs. 800 for a map, 100 per expert dungeon.

When it requires 75 alexandrite per weapon, and 10 weapons in total now, and Novus not being even the top tier weapon, why would they reduce the highest alexandrite rewarding piece of content?

They make coil easier and make relics harder to obtain? Makes no sense to me.

(you can easily run brayflox longstop hard in i90, not likely to be quickly and easily running Qarn hard in i90)

Not really sure what to say about that. I get what you're saying in regard to Hunts. I was just saying that the Alex are the same if you obtained your Myth/Soldiery through roulettes and dungeons.

I mostly do the daily Alex map quest with only the occasional Alex bought with allied seals....I hate hunts and only do the daily and weekly hunt bill from the GC. Oh well, guess I'll finish Novus whenever it gets finished. I hate how they market things as being able to level and play ALL jobs but you can only realistically have one or two jobs geared well enough for raiding top content.

Novus stage just got longer for sure. Hunts really sped the grind up. Every 10 As was 2 alex. Now it's 1.5. This is the second or third update that's made the grind longer. (B ranks really helped the alex grind before they were nerfed)

It's not only Novus that got shafted, books did too

A Rank would yield 20 Notes, 80 Myth, 20 Sold;
1500 Myth per book would equate to 19 A Ranks;
19 A Ranks now will only get you 380 Sold

Asians are suppose to be good at math...
