Please have a Caverns of Time style instance!

I've been thinking about this since the Lightning event and Crystal Tower, but FFXIV could easily have extra fights based on old school Final Fantasy. Vanity based loot to glamour out classic FF Styles.

They'd have to find some way to make the instances fit in the lore of Eorzea. The Caverns of Time worked because they could refer back to actual events and historical moments in Warcraft history.

The easiest way I could see this working, with as limited lore implementation as possible, would be for the Wandering Minstrel to conjure images of classic FF fights as "legendary stories" that such bards are wont to tell. That way, they don't need to have actually happened or even be based in Eorzea's history. Plus, we already have the assumption that the Wandering Minstrel is powerful enough to conjure things into material being, such that Ultima (Hard) and Savage Coil actually exist in a tangible way.

I'd like for SE to dig deeper and find a way to make revisiting classic FF stories work in an actual time travel or "dimension travel" way, but the Wandering Minstrel would be an easy shortcut.

All FF worlds are separate worlds. The Caverns of Time was within the world of Warcraft. Eorzea is separate from EVERY OTHER FF WORLD.

Interesting, then how did Lightning get to Eorzea? Crystal Tower is a tower from FF3 http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Crystal_Tower. I was using these events as a method to allow us to engage past bosses from Final Fantasy.

I agree with you on the Wandering Minstrel idea Bri, just having the ability to do some of the past events would be amazing :D

They wrote her into it and she had no memory of her time in Eorzea in Lightning Returns. Read the quests.

I like the Wandering Minstrel idea.
I wouldnt mind there being some Battle of Cartenue (sp?) instance. Survive as long as you can before Bahamut's Mega Flare goes off and Louisouix ports people away. Reward individuals based on how many Garleans you slay, what you slay, individual damage/healing, etc. Or slay some giant Garlean magitek Descepticon before time runs out (and your party gets Mega Flare'd).

There are still many npc whom background we know so little about. Why not add a time travel tale where the player goes back in time to stop history from changing, a example could be we go back to witness some of the events that happend during the five year gap, like the creation of The Scion of the Seventh Dawn.

Personaly I would love to explore key moments of other Final Fantasy games.
