World & Dungeon Details Suggestions
Thought i make a thread about minor "World / Dungeon Details".
Recently i noticed the lack of "Effects" or rather "You know whaat would look cool in here..." in both dungeons aswell as the free-roaming world.
This isnt a complain thread but a mere suggestions thread.
So here's a few ideas i think will engulf players abit more.
Suggestions:
● Dripping water drops from walls / celings in dungeons, drips into a puddles with a faint "plop" sound effect.
● Small creepy crawlers, no-attackable running around the dunegon floor / walls etc.
● Cool looking foggy areas inside dungeons or world areas, making fighting abit harder than usual.
● Snow caves, with reflective ice crystallizations, proper mirror reflection of anything that moves.
- Including chilly fog & that special "chills down your spine" kinda sound-effect when ice grinds upon ice. (or a fork on a ceramic plate.)
● Faintly moving spiderwebs, wierd stuff moving around such as in FFXI promyvions, almost like dust particles, or wierd strange patterns.
● Small stones / rocks crumbling down the dungeon walls.
● When it rains in free-roam world, id love to see atleast waterdrops in the puddles.
- Same would be for when it snows, let some snow stay on the ground and slowly fade away.
- or atleast have some waterpuddles form when it rains & fade away when it stops raining.
● Crackling / disolving floor tiles, dissapearing underneath the players feet.
● Fishes swimming around in rivers & creeks. (Could represent what you can catch in that particular area)
- additonal fishes etc jumping out of water in lakes & then splashes back down.
- Hovering Dragonflies. (yes ive seen 1 or 2 in coerthas i think)
● Rare / random encounters, like a gopher / chipmunk all of a sudden pop out of a hole in the ground (for no obvious reason), a kind of "Wtf was that?" moment. ;)
● Leaves falling from trees, pollen floating away from flowers / bushes etc.
● Owls, eagles / birds landing in trees / ground...and if a player gets to close they fly away.
- Well thats all i can come up with for now, im sure many others have same or other cool ideas. :o
All in all, id like to say how much i miss having mr Tanaka & mr Sakaguchi around for their "Epic" world visions. I really loved what Sakaguchi did with "Blue Dragon", some of the caves / area in that game was so freakin cool.
Even so mr Yoshida & his Dev Team doing better than i expected so keep it up. ( ^.^)b
Anywayz, i hope you end up giving us something that really "blows" our minds and
jawdropping as many of us still hope for.
More mysterious places, intrguing stories and epic battles!
