Onion Helm
Do you know that exclusive hat you get for getting the Collectors Edition?
Well not only does it suck horribly and last around 30 minutes, but now they've reskinned it and given it to the public.
Thanks for making me regret the extra $50 even more.

lol Least I still have my speed shoes. I never did get my helmet anyway, no biggy.
-
Yeah, pisses me off more that other people got better stuff but actually getting the CE for the game itself got the shittiest in-game item.
-
Shoot I got the Official Collectors edition and never got any speed shoes... all I got was the Onion hat and I immediately put that in my retainer inventory... BTW I bought my CE for like $55 I never redeemed my city certificate though >_> I should probably do that.
-
Speed shoes? Those sound nice.
-
You get them by linking an active FFXI account to your FFXIV account before creating a character. Hermes' Shoes. Flee for 30 mins per 24hr period, pretty badass. I polish mine weekly >.>

I added my code late since i wasn't able to get ahold of the collector's edition when it was released, but i will never be able to get the helm on my main character, only my others :/
I tried to contact them about it and they pretty much said: "We're sorry but that's correct, if added after creating a character you have to delete it and remake to get one. And we don't have any plans on fixing this in the future."
I'm not starting over :/ ive put in so much time and effort in the game already..
I got the new verision of it though, but it doesn't match with all the other onion parts...

The speedy shoes really bothers me...i think they should tell you as you create your account that they are available

Free Authenticator wasn't too bad.
The little "head start into the madness" wasn't too bad either.

I certainly don't care that they reskinned it, the red one is pretty ugly.
I do think the Onion Helm itself could use a change of stats to better reflect the game today. There's no death penalty at that level and the reduction on weakness is moot, since you usually spend it running back to wherever you died.
I think they should make the Onion Helm negate weakness altogether up to rank 10. (And maybe allow a small SP bonus up to maybe 1000 SP per day, also up to rank 10)
