[PETITION] Remove daily post limit and 1000 character cap

I'm beating the deadest of horses right now, but I think there'd still be a great backing of this.

These limits on the forum are just downright ridiculous. I'm not sure why they're set in place, but they need to be looked at.

You may think the post limit makes sure people only post on topic.

It doesn't work.

You may have it in place because of RMT.

They have a googleplex of accounts and bots to deal with that issue.

The post count limit is a hindrance. There are a great number of people that are happy to give their input that's on-topic and useful. "Sorry, you've been too useful today." is what you're saying to them. Maybe a topic comes up that the person is experienced in, but because they had to post "this is how I feel about X," they can't and the thread peters off as no one knows a good amount of the topic to make it useful.

As for the character count limit, I can only come up with two rationales.

1. Tons of walls of text just repeating "LOLOLOLOLOL" forever.
2. Because two Japanese characters is like a whole sentence. Who would need all that length?

Any non symbol-language (Japanese, Chinese, et all) people. And probably some signal-language people being incredibly verbose. We need that.

Yeah. It's been pretty pointless from the get-go.
Especially considering how easy (and necessary) it is to circumvent the character limit.
As for the level=times can post thing? I haven't seen much connection between the quality/subject of the post and the level of the character. One of the most pointless restrictions I have ever seen on a forum.

I did the very same thread yesterday, but hey, all my support, 1000 character limit is useless.

I'm sorry, I wouldn't have made one if I'd seen another so recent. Maybe it'll help though?

People should only be using one character when posting on the forums. People can use multiaccounting to make it seem like more people agree with their ideas. It is fraudulent and I do not support removing the cap on forum characters.

You know when I said "character limit" that I meant every letter or number or punctuation and spaces you use, right?

It takes up less space!

This a thousand times (no pun intended). I get that it was meant as a sort of anti-spam/-troll measure, but yeah... it's never really worked at all. Those who want to spam or troll will find their way anyhow (and even 1000 character gives enough room for that), while those who'd just want to express their opinions or are generally literate (ie. verbose) are punished much more by these. And indeed, everyone knows how easy it is to circumvent the restrictions - and let's not even mention certain dev posts (Yoshi's explanations and their translations, for one) that often get to several thousand characters, some even going above 5000......
