Nods to other (non-FF) SE games?

While at this point in video gaming you can only make a fireball look different in so many ways, where there are unique features they tend to stand out. In looking at other SE creations, I think I've noticed a few references to other games. We aren't counting other FF titles (including XI) and obviously there was a Dragon Quest crossover. But what about the following...

1. BLM eye-patch. Without spoilers, the BLM AF headpiece has an elaborate eyepatch that resembles one found on a character in Nier. Has anyone else gotten that feeling of similarity? There are many eye-patches in XIV, just none like this one which makes it stand out.

2. ARC casting. The red "swirly-square" animation on the book when casting resembles the seals that close off battle areas in Drakengard 3. It may be a stretch, but these battle areas often have crates in them to hide goods and as we know, ARCs work around crates all the time (let alone work with magic and such).

3. Heavensward trailer. If you pause it at the 31 sec. mark you'll find a nod to the cover of Thief. Before you go "how can you reinvent a cowl, just like the fireball above?" stop and think...how many gear sets in XIV have that look as in the video? The WAR had to be modeled that way specifically with that same look in his eyes as Garrett. Eh, eh?

4. Shaded Specs. No other glasses in the game are dark nor angular which to me invoked a bit of Deus Ex. In Human Revolution if you take Mr. Jensen's memorable shades and flipped them over they would look remarkably similar, even to those worn by JC Denton in the first game.

I don't know if any Tomb Raider nods have been included, and I suppose we'll wait until after the patch to see if Mini Ninjas are referenced, but I figured for those of us who like such things that these were fun observances!

Was any of this too far-reaching? Have any of you noticed other crossovers?
