Wondering if /set crossbar can slurp macros or not. I read the in-game info and saw that I can set actions, pet actions, emotes, etc. but nothing about setting a certain macro to a slot. Can this be done?

Nope. Closest you can get is to have hotbars that are identical except for the macros you want to swap, and copy the entire hotbars back and forth.

SE's never given a reason. They apparently had commands in 1.0 that would allow it, but hotbars & macros & commands all changed enough that it's not clear whether the capability was intentionally removed or if they just didn't want to bother implementing it with the new commands, or if they just haven't gotten around to it yet.
If it's an intentional removal, it's dumb, given that you can work around it by copying hotbars. If it's not intentional, I really wish they'd get on it already. -

why do people want more, you can have the derpin 48(36?) from options, then the global side bars(saw the shared/unshared option for these somewhere) for another 4 rows for food/pots/etc
edit:theres this arrow over there(leftside) that changes bars for you to change your main bar to one of the others -
