As new classes continue to come out that variety of gear dropped in coil will increase yet the chances of getting a particular set of gear will decrease further especially in regards to armor pieces aka equipment worn on the left side of the character window. Once ninja comes out there will seven unique armor sets that can be worn by particular classes (tank, healer, bard, dragoon, monk, ninja, caster). So getting that particular armor piece that you want for bis will be even more difficult unless you're lucky. I completely understand why ninja has a different set of armor pieces so that the class retains its unique feel and isn't a monk lookalike with daggers.

I also hope the other new classes will have some unique looking endgame armor as well. However as the game is currently designed, it may be difficult for certain players to get the pieces they desire. I know of one person in my raid group who still isn't bis on his left side yet even though we've been completely cleared coil for four months now. I can't imagine how bad it could be for other people when more individual gear sets get added to the game. So my solution to this impending problem is to release "tokens" for particular classes that can be exchanged for an individual set of armor. If you played wow, you know what I'm talking about. For example monk/drg/nin would share one particular token which I'll arbitrarily call the melee token while blm/smn/bard (range dd token) would share another particular token.

So if a melee token dropped on a endgame boss, those three classes listed above could roll on it and then exchange it to Rowena or Gerolt minions for a their particular set of armor. This way every class in the raid has a quarter chance of getting their specific set of gear. The way the token drops can be similar to HA weapons which always drop on particular turn. Also since FFXIV currently has fewer bosses in a raid than wow, the token should probably be limited to two particular slots of gear such as head and chest. This also clears up the loot from the other bosses since 7 different headpieces and chest pieces don't have to be incorporated in the loot table anymore. Also if more classes are incorporated down the line then they can just be added to an already established token. So what do you guys think? Should this be implemented soon or do you guys have any other ideas to free up the limited loot space? Bah couldn't fit all my text into a single post.

Actually in the live letter mr g said they would not do it for coils but would consider it for the new end game raid in 3.0.
