Upcoming progression thread

With the upcoming patch, there is a new end game raid and there could be a new progression thread or if anything our current progression post will be modified. In order to do this there are a few things I'd like to know.

1. Should there be a new thread or are we keeping the old one?
2. Should we keep track of last turn's weapon drops?
3. Should we keep track of primal kills?
4. Since nobody downed it, should we consider savage coil progression?
5. Is there anything the thread needs that could be added or fixed?

If there is no feedback, I'll take some advice or requests people gave along 2.2 - 2.3 and implement them in the thread, see how it develops and make changes accordingly.

I think we should make a new thread to keep it clean. For the first few weeks of the patch some people will probably keep reporting turn 9 clears on this thread (which is fine in my eyes), but it'll just be messier mixing SCoB clears with the new progression stuff.

Weapon drops would be good if we did like the first 5 for each weapon, because if we keep on after that it gets too much to keep track of. Only question I have is do we count ones that are on alts and not mains if they are part of the first 5?

Primal kills I say nah. Lots of pugs will be clearing them early and you can't really keep track of pugs so it's not like you can legitimately say "This is the kill order for this server" on primals.

Savage should definitely still be considered progression in my eyes. Hopefully there are ilvl syncs to 110 in Savage so we can't overgear Savage, but I doubt there will be.

As for fixing the thread I can't think of anything. SCoB progression thread was good!

I think Savage Coil, Final Coil, and Shiva EX.

In favor of a new thread considering that's 9 instances right there so it would look cleaner and easier to scroll through the topic.

2. I say no since it's old content and probably 20+ or so players have HA weapons so finding everyone may be taxing on you. Possibly for Final Coil it'd be nice. I also like S'reth's response.
3. No. People only care about server first then forget about server first a week after a patch comes out.
4. My group and a few others may hit savage coil come 2.4 so I say yes to keeping a tab on this.
5. You've done an excellent job at updating and keeping the thread clean, Runa. I don't think anything other than the things I listed should be added or fixed. :)

1.Should there be a new thread or are we keeping the old one?: Either or, w/e is easier for the person updating and tracking. New thread with same first post would likely be the best option I'd think. keeps historic data but allowed for fresh new pages for ease of tracking.
2.Should we keep track of last turn's weapon drops?: In a separate thread this would be nice (2.4 only), like the thread we had for twin drops.
3.Should we keep track of primal kills?: Not really necessary, I think.
4.Since nobody downed it, should we consider savage coil progression?: Yes, I know I haven't even tried but if people are putting the work and time in, why not give them the credit.
5.Is there anything the thread needs that could be added or fixed?: I really liked that version before you took over included the FC's website as a link when they cleared it in the first post. You could click the clearers name and went straight to the site. Don't run around looking for the site, but if the FC has one and posts it like before that would be cool.

I'm cool with whatever is easiest for whoever is keeping it up.

After reading the feedback, most people agree that a new post should be made, this new post will track: savage coil and final coil. The reason behind this is that, after reading the feedback and managing the progression thread for almost 2 patches, people will care about primals for maybe the first 3 weeks, after that most groups (statics, pug's, FC's) will forget about posting them. The suggestion about linking to FC's/group's sites will be taken into account.

The new thread will contain the progression information from 2.2 - 2.3, however, it won't be updated anymore. In my opinion, the savage coil section of the thread has to be separated from the regular last coil progression. Since it's expected that people from different statics will group up to try and down it, unless everyone agrees to give credit to all the statics the savage turn clearing group members belong to (which I don't think would be the case), we will need a separate section.

As the thread develops, we can see if there is a way of including a Dreadwyrm weapon section without making the thread look cluttered or if we would need to make a new thread for that purpose. If a new thread is required for that matter and if anyone would like to take over the duty of managing the last coil weapon thread, they could announce it beforehand or simply make it, if not I'd gladly take over said task as well.
