...can we have it? What I heard at FanFest blew the original out of the water imo.

I think ifrit needs a new song his current one doesn't fit compared to what the others have.

The only hope is they will throw Soken and call back Uematsu and Mizuta: Soken has no idea about making music for FF saga, we need more japanese style with minimal sounds and flute, less epic/orchestral.

um ifrit's theme was made by uematsu? soken had nothing to with that

I am not talking about Ifrit theme, but generally. Soken also ruined the original Over Windy Meadows that actually was the new Ronfaure.
Soken doesn't belong to the saga, it's totally a different style even if his music is not bad, it's not the feeling we had before.

to each their own, i actually enjoy soken's music, especially the battle themes and coil music

Coil music is a remix of Answer, the amazing main theme Uematsu made time ago. But yes, Coil music is good. Not only Coil, I also enjoy Ul'dah at night. Soken makes for sure good tracks, but still too far away from FF saga style.

i think FFXIV:ARR has its own identity (sonically), there's no reason it should sound like past games when there are references to past FF games everywhere in-game
