Why can primals like Titan and Ramuh summon an Egi version of themselves?
Because they are SMNs dah
Probs cuz they can use a portion of their energy to summon due to them being summoned thru a huge crystal, i.e titan and the kobs hoarding lots of crystals to re summon a super strong titan.
Honestly I'd just say because it's a non-canon version of what they're capable of...kinda like HM Ultima. :p
In many cases they are giving lifes to aspects of themselves. With Garuda we see her calling forth Chirada and Suparna. For Titan, he summons forth Gaolers aspects of him watching over those he has imprisoned in his gaols. With Ramuh he calls forth Arbiters to carry out the sentencing of the judgement.
That doesn't work because Ultima's Bane is a bard literally telling you "yeah I know it didn't go like that, but I had to make it sound good!" Whereas the EX Primals have actual questlines where you go kick their butts again because they were summoned with greater power.
That only gets stretched thin as an excuse when you go back for Primal Focus.
They are gods that exist as spiritual beings, so it wouldn't be a problem for them to control multiple bodies, I think that's what the arbiters and the gaolers are, as for Garuda they seems to be some kind of illusions and not Egi ( the game says something like, the mirages of Garuda appear i think )
Primals do not have a physical body, per se. They are Aetherstuff, not flesh. That they could utilize the Aether to create smaller versions of themselves is not outlandish, and is actually far easier to swallow than SMN being able to create Egis (Eges? Egies? Egices?). Think of it like cell division or asexual reproduction of a "being" composed entirely of energy.
