Doesn't every identity card in the UK have a picture? o.o
We dont use identity cards that im aware of only ID I have is a birth certificate dont drive and not gone abroad so no need for that kind of ID
We don't have ID cards in the UK, our previous government was going to bring them in but the current one scrapped the idea, I have mixed feelings about it but that's beyond the scope of this thread :D
To be on the safe side I dug out my old paper provisional driving licence and got it upgraded to a photo version (luckily only cost me the price of the photos and postage as I'd moved house since I originally got it).
I wasn't sure myself if it was just for age check or for everyone so thought it better safe than sorry to get something.
I'd imagine the ID check is to confirm the ownership of the ticket rather than the age. Since no request of an ID with a photo was mentioned, one without should do as well - but it would definitely be best to have an ID of some sort with a photo.
I spoke with SE team about this before.
They said that student cards and birth certificates will be valid ID, so long as they have the date of birth on it.
Ty guys that helped alot
I have a Birth Certificate! Crisis over!
Greetings excited adventurers,
acceptable forms of ID to prove you are over 16 include:
- a photo driving licence
- a passport
- a national identity card
- and yes, a student ID card and
- a birth certificate as well.
Just don't forget them at home ;) See you all this weekend !
