Picking up IDs

So I just finished speaking with a friend who is attending the NA Fan Fest currently. He mentioned that there, they had to take their print out tickets (from Eventbrite) and exchange them for personalised IDs with their character's name on it.
The part that worries me is that he said the queues for picking up these IDs was very, very long.
Will it be possible to pick the IDs up the day prior to fan fest taking place to avoid queues? Or will I have to set off from my hotel early to avoid them on the day?

I don't think we're getting personalised IDs at all, so sadly we're not even going to have this problem. The Las Vegas attendees got asked what their preferred character name was and to my knowledge we never were.

It does feel that the EU one was an afterthought to the others. We still dont even have an itinerary
