Tips for T9 phase 3

Hi all, I would like to know any kind of tips and tricks you guys can have to skip the second ghost of Meracydia. Our group it's pretty much new into second coil but we would like to do it this way as our gear is 108-110 for our DPS classes so we think is doable by far.

How do you think we should waste our lb3 to the most efficient way? caster on both Nael and ghost, melee on Nael, melee on Ghost?

How must the tank move so our 3 melees dps can keep dpsing Nael with no risk of taking dmg?

And if you have any tips for our DPS classes it would be greatly appreciated too (2 MNK, DRG, BRD, BLM).

We have 4 meteors in first phase even if someone dies for some reason.
We are not using potions or poison, only food.

That is how we do it in heavensfall. Note that we do it with 4 DPS, we use potions. You must do around 1800 group DPS to skip 2nd add and you have around 80 seconds to do it.

My group melee LBs Nael but really the best advice I could give is just to practice. Once everyone is comfortable with the phase, dps will increase and there won't be a problem.

The entire difficulty of P3 is making sure you get a clean transition into P4. The mechanics themselves are simple.

The most efficient use of LB is to drop meteor on Scourge+Nael, since that does more total damage than a single melee LB3.

Only have the casters or two 2 range dps on the ghost and limit break it with the caster LB along with Nael. Pull them close together right when it spawns so foe requiem will be on both. The majority of your dps want to be on Nael. It's best not to have a bard waste their burst on the ghost. They should stay on Nael. Everybody should have all their buffs for heavens fall and preferably use x-potions of the strength/intelligence/dexterity along with their cooldowns. With this strategy, you can have Nael down to 50% before the second heavens fall comes down. You just need 46% to skip the second ghost. You only need to weaken the ghost to around 60% for the caster LB to finish it off. It's a waste to melee limit the ghost. The casters should be able to whittle it down to 60% in about 20 seconds.

My group has blm brd drg mnk and we always skip the second ghost. Our dps were not as well geared overall as your group when we first cleared. With 5 will geared dps this should be easy for your group.

We have both melee stay on Nael. Blm will double flare ghost and Nael then mage lb3. Bard will battle voice foe, put dots on both. He will dps Nael until 65% then switch to boss. (I think he could switch at 70% but he insists.) All procs from ranged should go on the Nael. We have pld OT in strength acc and he will switch to sword oath when lb goes off. He can dps either the ghost or Nael depending on what we need. Misery's end ghost by bard/melee/tanks if it still isn't dead after lb3. Scholar can put up dots on Nael if MT uses a minor CD for claws.

Pots must be used. This goes without saying. I make all my dps, tanks, and dps scholar pop them even when we were wiping 100 times a night in progression. Tell your group to suck it up and use them.

Good luck! Single ghost strat is the best strat.

dps must use pretty much all their cooldowns, they MUST use potion and if the SCH can cleric stance and put 4 dots it also helps

Thank you all for your replies. At the end we managed to skip the second Ghost with no problems at all. The problems were I suppose:

- BLM doing LB instead of a SMN (which we don't have)
- Being comfortable with the Heavens Fall patterns + Super Nova
- Organization between the tank and melees to keep uptime in Nael
- Ppl were not using potion/poison

Now we have to learn p4!
