[Suggestion] Ability to change Casting Animation from Weapon to Hands

Not unlike FFXI, you should be able to cast with your hands with your weapon holstered. Maybe changeable with a command (i.e. /changecast)?

Personally I think casts look better with the weapons out. Especially the BLM casts, I love the pose with the staff :D. Those casts with no weapon out is really boring to look at.

With weapon looks pretty boring too after five thousand spell casts. Everything in this game is too damn flashy.

Well, we already have the ability to hide our weapons while sheathed. Why not take it a step further and have a button to completely hide the weapon? Seems like something simple they could add.

If SE can do this, without causing problems, it would be a nice option to customize characters.

I agree with this. Whether it would be an animation change (via command) or just being able to hide it, I think it would be a good addition to the cosmetics.

Would be a nice idea. I would also like to be able to actually punch things as a MNK, bare fists!

Lore wise that wouldn't work either, as both THM and CNJ's lore specifically states the weapon is used as part of the spell casting process - it's used to channel aether from the caster/environment and direct it towards the desired target, like a conduit. ACN is a little different, but even they need their grimoire out, as they need to do calculations in it to generate their spells/summon with.

I'd kind of like to see the ability to have the second wielding pose be the default position if you're not smacking something with it. Mostly for staff. My char looks so cute in that pose on WHM! But I can also go with your idea too.

I second this! I honestly don't like the animation on WHM currently. The FFXI one though, I loved. :) Now that I think about it, the Holy animation looks more like the FFXI one, that's why I love using Holy all the time just to see my character doing that. XD
